Your Child Is in Loving Hands

Montessori Philosophy

The Montessori Philosophy focuses on the development of the whole child, preparing him/her for all of life’s experiences.

This philosophy was developed by Maria Montessori (1870 - 1952). It is based on her observations that children have a tremendous ability to learn from their environment without conscious effort, especially from birth to age six.

Montessori education recognizes the importance of all developmental areas, including a child’s social, emotional, physical and intellectual needs. It focuses on each child’s uniqueness and their inner clock of learning.

A Montessori teacher is trained to recognize these stages and introduce materials and activities that are designed to stimulate growth in these areas.

Quotes:

Maria Montessori

Never help a child with a task at which he feels he can succeed.

The greatest sign of success for a teacher... is to be able to say, ’The children are now working as if I did not exist.’

We discovered that education is not something which the teacher does, but that it is a natural process which develops spontaneously in the human being.
